  1. Prepare all ingredients: chop onions, tomatoes into bite-sized pieces and place in a large bowl.
  2. If using Ground beef, cook or prepare it separately — grill, pan-sear, or use pre-cooked — then slice and set aside.
  3. In a small bowl or jar, whisk together the dressing ingredients (oil, acid, seasoning) until emulsified.
  4. Pour the dressing over the salad and toss gently to coat everything evenly.
  5. Taste, adjust seasoning with salt and pepper, and serve immediately or chill for up to 30 minutes for deeper flavour.
